St. Martin Catholic Elementary School – Sanctuary Glass
Client: St. Martin Catholic Elementary School
Project Context: In-house project at Window Film Systems
Scale: 31 square metres
Objective
Create a custom stained-glass installation that tells the story of Saint Martin while enclosing the school’s newly built sanctuary in a welcoming and age-appropriate way.
Solution
A series of illustrated vignettes was developed to depict key moments from the story of Saint Martin. These scenes were redrawn from archived reference materials supplied by the school and reinterpreted with a lighter, more vibrant colour palette to suit a younger audience. Textural detail was introduced using photography of traditional stained glass, which was integrated into the final compositions to retain the character of classic materials while allowing for a contemporary, printed solution. The resulting installation balances storytelling, colour, and light to create an inviting and meaningful space for students and staff.
